Speaker: Mani Rajagopal
Speaker Bio: Mani got his Ph.D. in Atmospheric Sciences from University of Utah in 2022. Currently, he works as a researcher there studying storms and clouds. He enjoys watching clouds when he is outside since they reveal what's going on in the invisible air.
Every location has unique weather events, and Salt Lake City has its own, with its mountains and the Great Salt Lake. He will talk about two of the many weather events he experienced in the past few years. The downslope windstorm on Sep 8th 2020 that uprooted so many trees, and the duststorm on Aug 24th 2020 that brought the dust from the dry lake bed of the Great Salt Lake.
